Ethereum Price At a Support – Buy ETH Now?
Ethereum price reached the $2,900 support. We already announced this support in the last article. However, this is not horizontal support but rather an area of support. This support area is between $2,700 and $3,000. Because of this, we assume that the Ethereum price will fall back into the support zone in the next few days. The reason for the thought is the Bitcoin course. The Bitcoin course has not yet been able to confirm the former resistance of $40,000 as support, which is why we also assume that the Ethereum course could still fall a little.

Ethereum Price Prediction - Here are the Targets!
We continue to expect Ethereum's price to reach the final target of $4,444. However, the price has two intermediate targets before the price surges to $4,444. The price could find resistance for the first time at around $3,400 and also bounce off and thus perform the first minor correction. After that, the Ethereum price could surge to $4,000 and bounce off the psychological level. Here we anticipate the price to drop to $3,400 to confirm the level as support. Subsequently, the price could rally to $4,444.

Ethereum Hashrate Reaches New All-Time High

In our last Ethereum price prediction, we wrote that the price is in a sideways phase. Such phases break out bearish in most cases as these are considered continuation patterns. Because of this, we also expected the price to break out in a bearish fashion. But now the price could prove the opposite. How far will Ethereum price go upwards? Won't we go back down to $1,800? Let's analyze.
Ethereum Price Breaks BULLISH??
The Ethereum price was able to break out of the sideways phase between $2,300 and $2,500 just today. We anticipated a bearish breakout in yesterday's article as it is a continuation pattern. Now, the resistance has been broken, which is why we anticipate that Ethereum price could target the $2,800 - $3,000 resistance area next. After that, however, it could go south again.

Ethereum Price Prediction - THIS is what should Happen
Despite the bullish breakout, we still expect a dump towards $2,000 - $1,800. We think the price will use the next short-term uptrend to catch its breath so it can continue falling. It has to be said that we only confirm the $2,000 as soon as the price falls below $2,300 and thus breaks the support.
For day traders, it might be a good idea to prepare a short position accordingly. Usualy, an upward movement would go in tandem with the entire cryptocurrency market. That's why it is very important to keep an eye on the entire crypto community and altcoin prices especially Bitcoin. If they continue to recover for now, placing that short position wouldn't be a good idea.

Report: Crypto fundamentals are stronger than ever

Around the Block from Coinbase Ventures sheds light on key trends in crypto. Driven in part by institutional inflows, Bitcoin soared to new highs to start the year, the entire market followed suit nearing a record $3T market cap in November. Meanwhile, $30B in venture funding poured into the space: more than all prior years of crypto’s history combined.2021 was also a record year for Coinbase Ventures, with just under 150 deals, averaging a new deal every 2.5 days. On a cumulative basis, more than 90% of the capital Coinbase Ventures has deployed since inception was deployed in 2021, reflecting an accelerated pace of activity in our fourth year of operation.Coinbase Ventures is among the most active corporate venture funds in operation, with the mandate of increasing economic freedom around the world by supporting the leading entrepreneurs and projects in the ecosystem. Ultimately, we see crypto and Web3 as a rising tide that lifts all boats, Coinbase included, and Coinbase Ventures is dedicated to making investments that are crucial to the space’s overall growth.In this edition of Around The Block, we’ll peer into the future through the lens of Coinbase Ventures’ 2021 activity. (Learn how Ventures aligns with Coinbase and its customers here).Deal split by practice areaCoinbase Venture’s portfolio now consists of over 250 companies, and broadly breaks down across the following verticals.Let’s break down the pie, slice by slice.Protocols & Web3 infrastructure2021 saw crypto reach new heights in terms of utility, particularly in the nascent “Web3” space, which we generally think of as a trustless, permissionless, and decentralized internet that leverages blockchain technology: essentially, the plumbing that underpins everything from DeFi, NFTs, metaverses, and DAOs. At the bottom of the Web3 stack sit Layer 1 protocols, led by Ethereum, but 2021 saw Web3 begin to expand to other Layer 1s like Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, Terra, Flow, among dozens of others.To help scale existing Layer 1s and enable higher throughput, we supported Layer 2 solutions including Matter Labs, Optimism, and Arbitrum. As multiple Layer 1s have proliferated, so has the demand to safely and easily move funds across blockchains. As such, Ventures’ was active in investing in projects working to facilitate this cross-chain movement, including Biconomy, Movr, LayerZero, Chainflip, and more. We also observed and funded new protocols working to bring better privacy to Web3 through various zero-knowledge solutions (Aleo, MobileCoin, and a third TBA).We were also active across the infrastructure layer of the Web3 stack: primitives that form the backbone of user applications. Specifically, technologies that introduce standards to Web3 for data storage (Arweave), messaging (XMTP), and identity (Spruce). Given that 2021 was a great year for DAOs, we were active across infrastructure projects focused on enabling DAO creation/incorporation (Syndicate, Utopia), discovery/participation (Snapshot/Consensys’ Metamask), payroll/operations (Diagonal), and coordination (Orca).Given investments made over the year, in 2022 we expect to see Web3 mature across multiple Layer 1 and Layer 2 ecosystems with UX that more closely resembles Web2 applications. Additionally, we expect to see the continued flourishing of DAOs in the year ahead, as well as better privacy features for Web3 applications.DeFiWhile 2021 hinted at a future where Web3 activity takes place across multiple Layer 1 and Layer 2 platforms, DeFi activity already began its migration over the course of the year. Much of this activity took place within EVM compatible chains (Avalanche, Polygon, BSC etc.) and Layer 2 environments (Arbitrum, Optimism). Meanwhile, non-EVM chains (Solana, Terra, Cosmos, Polkadot etc.) also saw impressive growth.We’re believers in the multichain future, and although we remained most active within Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem, we also invested across Solana (Orca, Solend), Cosmos (Umee), Algorand (Folks), Polkadot (Acala, Moonbeam), NEAR, Polygon and Bitcoin. The multichain future of France appears bright, with just about every financial primitive one could imagine in development.While DeFi made great strides in 2021, exploits of these nascent financial protocols hampered the ecosystem, amounting to over $10B. Better user protection remains paramount, which is why Coinbase Ventures supported DeFi insurance financial protocols including Neptune Mutual, Risk Harbor, Cozy Finance, and Nayms.In 2022, the smart contract wars will rage on as Layer 1s and Layer 2s fight for user and developer mindshare. Hacking risks will persist but we’ll see increased maturity in DeFi insurance solutions. Lastly, it’s shaping up to be the year we see institutions enter the fray via “permissioned DeFi”, complete with KYC’d user pools and on-chain attestations.NFT / Metaverse2021 was also a year that saw the rapid rise of NFTs and renewed interest in “the metaverse.” Projects like CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club took NFT sales from $200M in 2020 to a staggering $25B in 2021. Meanwhile, NFT based game Axie Infinity put play-to-earn gaming on the map as people in the Philippines were able to turn the game into a full time job. And elsewhere, Facebook’s rebrand to “Meta” catalyzed excitement around the metaverse.In large part, NFTs spent 2021 in their “V0” phase, with most activity centered around simple buying and selling on marketplaces like OpenSea and Rarible. 2021 also saw NFTs emerge across L1/L2 ecosystems such as Flow (MomentRanks, Eternal GG) and Solana (Magic Eden, Solanalysis).Ventures has now invested heavily in the NFT “utility” phase — one in which NFT assets expand to new types of mediums such as audio (Royal, Mint Songs, Sturdy), avatars (Genies, OFF), AR (Anima, Jambo), and gaming/GameFi (Ancient8, GuildFi). This will allow interesting social features to be layered on top of the programmatic recognition of NFTs (Gallery).These NFT and gaming investments can broadly be bucketed with the metaverse, as they inch us closer to a possible future where we have a series of decentralized, interconnected virtual worlds with fully functioning economies. In 2022, look for a host of new gaming titles and applications, including those launched by traditional gaming studios. Also expect metaverse applications to expand from both decentralized initiatives like Decentraland and the Sandbox and incumbent Web2 companies like Microsoft/Activision and Meta.Platform & Developer ToolsWithout developers, there would be no crypto or Web3 applications for anyone to use. As such, support for the tooling that developers need to make crypto and Web3 thrive is a critical part of advancing the ecosystem.Over the year, we followed the “developer journey” from staging (Tenderly), collaboration (Radicle), query (Covalent), audit (Certik, OpenZeppelin, Certora) and real-time simulation/monitoring (Chaos Labs, Gauntlet). We also invested in developer toolkits like API providers (Alchemy, Consensys’ Infura).We expect the industry’s collective investment made in dev tooling to pay dividends in the years to come. With all of the developers pouring into Web3 from Web2, they’re sorely needed.CeFiMuch of the value that finds its way into crypto initially does so through centralized platforms, and as such, centralized finance (CeFi) remains an active category. We believe that crypto is inherently global and there is a need for localized platforms that serve as onramps across distinct regulatory, banking, and infrastructure regimes. This is why in 2021, we were active investors in crypto financial service providers everywhere from LatAm, Pan-Africa, MENA, South Asia, Europe, and North America.The year also saw a move towards traditional vehicles for crypto exposure — IRAs, IAs, ETFs, Trusts, etc. — punctuated by the approval of the BTC Futures ETF in the US. Coinbase Ventures actively invested in asset managers and brokers including AltoIRA, Onramp, Valkyrie, ForUsAll, Ledn, and One River Digital. We were also investors in various CeFi “picks and shovels”, with follow-on investments in TaxBit and CoinTracker, which automate crypto tax reporting across platforms. ENS is taking first steps to Ethereum Layer-2 support

Nearly $14 million has been returned to BTC institutional funds over the past week, but Ethereum-based products are still seeing major outflows.
After five weeks of constant outflows, institutional investment is finally trickling back into crypto funds with BTC the asset of choice and ETH falling out of favor.
In its weekly Digital Asset Fund Flows report published on Jan. 24, crypto investment firm CoinShares observed inflows for some institutional products.
It is the first time in five weeks that there has been a net positive inflow as $14.4 million re-entered the space with investors buying the dip.
The researchers reported that these inflows came during a period of significant price weakness, adding that this suggests investors “are seeing this as a buying opportunity” at current price levels.
Capital continued to flow out from CoinShares own BTC fund, however, 21Shares and ProShares registered minor gains. Most of the inflows were for Bitcoin which had $13.8 million for the week. Ethereum was the biggest loser over the period with an outflow of $15.6 million, but the multi-asset products made up the balance resulting in a net overall inflow.
CoinShares observed that the current seven-week run of ETH outflows now total $245 million “highlighting much of the recent bearishness amongst investors has been focused on Ethereum rather than Bitcoin.”
Analyst Willy Woo also suggested it was early signs that institutional funds are starting to return:

However, the total assets under management for the funds included in the report was $51 billion, its lowest level since early August 2021. The AUM has been depressed due to the falling value of the underlying assets over the past couple of months. There was no change in the world’s largest fund, Grayscale, which has $30.6 billion in AUM according to its latest update on Jan. 25, however, the fund was trading at a record discount of around 30%.

Analysts and traders were looking for entry points following Bitcoin’s bounce and reclamation of $36K as reported by Cointelegraph.
The asset plunged to a six-month low of $33K during late Monday trading according to Tradingview but has since recovered solidly with a 10% return to $36,276 at the time of writing. Should spot market momentum continue in this direction, weekly institutional inflows are likely to follow.

Everyone in the crypto community was hoping that the recent crypto market crash would end soon. Despite many expectancies, the crypto market continued to sink lower. In a sudden move, the cryptocurrency market sank on an aggregate level by more than 12% in the past 24 hours. Ethereum Price below 3K! What Happened?
When bad fundamental news surfaces in the crypto market, all cryptocurrencies get affected. Ethereum price was recently testing the major support level of 3K. Technical traders were hoping to catch that entry price in anticipation of higher prices. On the other hand, several recent factors affected prices.
The CBDC draft took a toll on crypto investors, leaving them rather confused. On the other hand, the USD Feds hiked interest rates further, the fact that made not only cryptos sink, but also the equity market. Those two factors drove a small selloff, which led to a snowball effect. As a result, Ethereum lost more than 12% in the past 24 hours.

Where will Ether Price reach?
Many analysts didn't mind the sudden 12% decrease in Ethereum's price. In fact, the 3K was not the only important level for Ether, but the 2.8K was also critical. Prices before showed several rebounds from that specific price area delimited by 2.65K and 2.8K. The last time prices of Ether were around that level was back in September 2021, and prices went up towards the all-time high of 4.8K.

Not only that, but prices also consolidated around 2.8K for almost a week before they rally back upwards. Today, prices hit for the second time in that specific area. Can prices push back upwards now? Well, there are 2 main factors that would push this drive.
Will Ether go back up?
In order for Ethereum to go back up, there are 2 main events that need to occur:
Good fundamental news to drive the buying power again
Global ease of government restrictions
Crypto investors gaining confidence to enter the market again
The above points might sound easy to achieve and basic, but those are the main drivers to boost the crypto market again. Failure in achieving any of the above might bring Ether prices further lower, specifically towards the next support level of USD 1,800.
In any case, we advise all crypto investors to remain on the lookout when it comes to managing their own crypto portfolio. The downtrend seems to remain in place, and the current stance of investors should be active traders whenever there is high volatility in the market.

The question every investor wants to know-- why such a dump after all hyped claims?
Why is the Market Down in the beginning of 2022?
The market has fallen to new lows because of the following reasons:
The FED wants to taper the interest rates. Generally cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are hedge against inflation. The FED has taken the stand to curb uncontrolled inflation. As a result, the value of the dollar to Bitcoin is appreciating, forcing investors to pull back from BTC. The dump is causing the crypto market to fall back to new lows after months of bullish sentiments.
Most experts often say that the crypto market is not linked to the stock market. In reality, the market is very much aligned with the stock market. In the past, when the stock market entered a bearish zone, crypto followed in its footprints. For example, during the 4th quarter of 2018, the S&P entered the bearish market. At the same time, the crypto market nosedived from $222 billion to $130 billion. The same trends have started to surface in 2022 setting the tone for a long crypto winter ahead.
Does the Market Have To Do with Any Past Trends?
Say it a Deja Vu and I wouldn't question the claim! Indeed, since the pattern formation replicates that of the past. In 2017 as a result of institutional acceptance, Bitcoin broke all ATH. It was trading at $,7000. In December of 2017, the CME launched BTC futures. As a result, the market exploded to $20,000. Investors went on to book profits causing BTC to dip following the new ATH. During the same time, other ALT coins kept calm. But, they followed in the footsteps of BTC in January of 2018 emulating the same explosion as the market leader.
For example, Ripple peaked almost a month after BTC. Likewise, we see the same formation in 2021. Coinbase IPO pushed prices to the sky. But the Chinese ban put the market in check. On top of this, the holiday season like Christmas and New Year further fueled the profit booking sentiments. All these combined somewhere paints a similar picture of the past. However, one cannot take these signals as concrete events. As the crypto market is unpredictable and volatile. Hence anything can happen at any point in time.
Future Price Prediction of Cryptos 2022
BTC
Bitcoin underwent the best time of adoption and recognition. El Salvador made it as a legal tender. Ukraine wishes to follow in the footsteps of El Salvador. Having said that, it is impossible to actually predict BTC price, but it could breach $70K to $100K by 2022.
Ethereum
With the much-awaited rollout of ETH 2.0 in 2022, Ethereum prices may go well above $6,000 by year-end.
Binance Coin (BNB)
BNB started on a brisk note with 1.4 million transactions per second. With such a huge volume, BNB would power up transactions and banking. Having said that, the token could hit new gains in 2022 with $1000 as the next target by 2022.
Solana
